    This states that John, shown here as Simon\'s father died without issue.
    This puts the line before Simon in doubt.

    Name:
    Godbolt of Norfolk. I cannot find any 15th century Godbolt's but there are some Godbolds in Fressingfield, Suffolk which is just 10 miles from Shimpling. eg John Godbold was born there in 1423, he had children John born 1450 and Alice born 1455 (she would fit as a potential wife of Simon but no evidence of that).
