He asked her to move to London and he would provide funds. He gave her £5. She moved to London in May 1833. He then sent £5 twice more an some game. On 13 July 1833 she gave birth to a son in her brother Drake’s house, 8 Mary Anns Place, Finsbury Market (NE corner of Finsbury Market). Presumably to confirm John Gooch was the father she admitted have a ‘connection’ on March 1831 with Edward Chandler, a young whitesmith from Tofts near Haddiscoe, but only once. |
