Name |
HEMINGTON, Walter |
Birth |
9 Aug 1890 |
Camden Town, London, UK |
- 1891 Census says he was born in Camden Town. At the time of the census he was 8 months old and living with Charles and his wife Emma and their children William (12), Ellen (10) and Rosina (8) at 19 Exeter Street. In the late 1930s Exeter Street was renamed Ashbridge Street and is in Marylebone, 70 yards from Little Carlisle Street where he lived 28 years later in 1919. I believe his mother was Clara who I have not found in the 1891 census. I believe Charles and Emma may have moved away temporarily when unmarried Clara became pregnant and that's why Walter is shown as being born in Camden Town, as Charles and Emma's nephew in the 1891 census and as their son in a later census. My father Frank, recalls that his father in law was very close to and affectionate to 'aunt Clara' and would visit her every Sunday.
