  1. 1.  SHARDALOW, William Henry was born on 31 May 1862 in 8 Brewer Street, Clerkenwell, Middlesex, England; was christened on 2 Nov 1862 in St Thomas Charterhouse, Goswell Road, Clerkenwell, London.

    Birth:
    Brewer Street is now Paget Street. No. 8 is apparently not there but likely some renumbering has taken place and even one or more houses merged/split.

    Died:
    No trace of William Henry after death of his mother in 1877 when he was 14 years old. His brother Albert George, aged 11, went off the the orphanage at Gravesend (and on to Canada in 1862 as Home Child), his sister Eliza Kate, aged 9, went to the Sailors school in Hampstead. But what happened to William Henry? There is a William Henry Shardlow who dies in Paddington in 1885 aged 23 (fits) - could that have been him?
